Regional Attractions

Opportunities for meaningful and unique experiences abound in and around Madrid. Nearby attractions include the High Trestle Trail (currently open from Madrid to Ankeny), Boone & Scenic Valley Railroad, Ledges State Park, Swede Point Park, the Iowa Arboretum, and Snus Hill Winery, to name a few. The half mile long High Trestle Trail bridge over the Des Moines River will open in fall 2010 linking Madrid to Woodward.
