Welcome to the Madrid Police Department’s official web page. This site was developed to provide the citizens of Madrid an opportunity to become familiar with the police department and be informed of current or upcoming projects that we are involved in.
In addition to using this page to let us tell you what is happening, it can also be used to let you tell us what is going on. A CONTACT link appears to the left. Click on it to e-mail concerns, complaints, and accolades or use it as an anonymous “tip-line”. You can still call or come by the station. Email just provides another tool that we, the police department, can use to stay in touch with the citizens of Madrid. |
Our motto is “Dedicated to Serve - Sworn to Protect”. The emphasis on the motto is SERVE. It is my goal, as well as the goal of the Department to enhance the “quality of life” that members of this community enjoy. Unfortunately, sometimes that means making arrests and writing citations. But most of the time it means helping our residents in everyway we can.
Enjoy your time on our site. Please let us know how we can help or how we can better serve you.

The Madrid Police Department switched from all black police cars which had been used for more than 10 years to black and white patrol vehicles in 2004. The black and whites represent a more traditional police look and are much more distinctive. The black and white scheme is used by many departments in the Metro area, including Ankeny, Polk City, Johnston and Perry.
If you would like to see what former police vehicles looked like, click at the HISTORY button on the left. |

!!! ATTENTION PATCH COLLECTORS!!! |
Because of budget restraints the Madrid Police Department is not able to provide a current patch to private collectors. However, every effort will be made to provide a Madrid Department patch to authorized officers of a department for an official department collection.
A limited number of old, used patches are available for private collectors on a case by case basis for trade. Private collectors wishing to trade for an old style Madrid patch must first provide a trade patch to this department.
